The customer service facilities with the ship's bows have been finished at the Riihisaari Museum!
Partanen & Lamusuo Oy participated in the renovation of Metsähallitus' exhibition spaces, as well as in the entrance area with Riihisaari Fossils artwork. Now the sales- and information area is also ready for future customers and visitors.
The aim of the new space was to feature the ship's history from the Riihisaari area and to try to bring it out through colors and furniture. Each refurbished space is designed to fit together and the common theme will stand out for the visitor.
The colors and references of the museum's own ship, the steam schooner s/s Salama (Lightning), have been used in the layout of the service counter. The blue counter with a white top is related to the color scheme of the Salama and makes its part in the implementation of the theme indoors. The atmosphere in the customer service area is added with sound spots, where at a certain place you will hear, for example, the sounds of the old port area from the past.
In terms of ship history, there was a desire to do something spectacular and different about the sales area. The end result was the idea of making sales furniture from the fronts of ships, bows.
The bows of the ships are handcrafted and welded. There are three different colors and each has shelves on them and drawer below those. The sales furniture is movable with the help of tires, so they can also be used in other places and for other purposes. This fits in with Partanen & Lamusuo Ltd’s mindset that furniture can be used in different ways.
Unlike in the pictures, the names of the ships will be added to the already impressive sales furniture later.
The ship's bows have been named for example Sattuma, Mikko, Ahjo and Aulis.
