The artwork Riihisaari Fossils welcomes you to the renovated Riihisaari Museum.

Partanen & Lamusuo Ltd was involved in the renovation of the Riihisaari Museum's customer service facilities. Those arriving at the building are welcomed along the experiential and untrammeled entrance ramp, which houses the artwork Riihisaari Fossils. It tells about the history of shipbuilding and shipyards in the area. The work is made of concrete and old steel parts and tools from ships.

There has always been a shipping industry in the Riihisaari area. Now the metal parts embedded in the concrete are, as it were, remnants of that time; fossils found from the ground. The metal parts cut into shape have been sanded and surface treated by natural means, i.e. by rusting in the rain. The models for the metal parts were obtained from a local, traditional shipping company with which we worked closely.

We think that adaptability is more important than flexibility when it comes to creative collaboration.
The ability to tell the same story, even if the amount of pages in the book would change. With the experience of hundreds of both small and large projects, we can deduce that even though we are very proud of what we have accomplished, the merit for our best work goes to our clients. They have shared our point of view, that we can succeed only because we share the same vision and dream. We design spaces, buildings and environments that are comfortable to live and work in, pleasant to the eye and sustainable. We are a creative design and architecture office, we want to create an inclusive world all around us - Piece by Piece.
