A dream that started it all.
Palad Showroom project started in the fall of 2020 at the same time as Covid-19 was affecting all around the world. For many companies, projects paused or stopped altogether. However, one dream had been brewed for a long time by Partanen & Lamusuo Ltd’s executives Jaana Partanen and Heikki Lamusuo. The pair of artist-architect wanted a place to showcase their extensive and diverse expertise with option to also show Palad furniture collection. Autumn provided an excellent opportunity to focus on a long-term dream. Standing out from the rest, Partanen & Lamusuo did the opposite that most companies had done. The dream began to be closer than ever.
The Palad Showroom works spectacularly as it is with its stylish details, but can also be used as a meeting or exhibition space, and why not as a party space as well. The Showroom consists of two floors, with the first floor being at street level with golden walls.
Downstairs has a bright and open feel, although there are no windows in the room. Gray floor with silver-colored walls make the space look elegant. The gallery-like space is perfect for exhibitions and the downstairs space has also been used for yoga classes.
The whole space was done gradually, either one column or wall at a time. Each time a certain part was completed, it was considered how to proceed from this to the next wall or list. Originally, the plan was to make only a small surface renovation of the premises, but the enthusiasm for making art took the artists with them. This enthusiasm created the Palad Showroom, which captures the gaze both from the outside and from the inside.
The showroom was completed in the spring of 2021 and can be leased by companies, as well as individuals. If you want to ask more about the rental, contact us by e-mail palad@palad.fi or by calling 050 436 2355.
The showroom served as a kind of testing ground for Jaana and Heikki's experiments. The end result was a magnificent artwork, which can also be called an urban living room.
