The cultural life of Savonlinna got a much-needed boost when the new movie theater Kuvalinna opened in the city. An extensive renovation was carried out at the Kisalinna premises in Viiskulma, when the old theater was transformed into a movie theater. The cinema was designed with different shades of gold and red. In terms of color, Kuvalinna is reminiscent of the Maxim movie theater of Varkaus, which interior design was also by Partanen & Lamusuo Ltd.

The lobby areas are bright and spacious. Alkio furniture colors the space and there are stylish black bar stools next to the stairs leading downstairs. Before the movie begins, you can buy popcorn and pick 'n' mix candies from the lobby. Kuvalinna has one movie hall, which is on the same floor as the ticker sale. The hall has a total of 196 seats and four of them are love seats. The red color in the movie hall delights and creates an atmosphere.
