#Piispantalo

Piispantalo located in Kuopio is immensely valuable cultural history building operated by Kuopio Rouvasväenyhdistys ry. The former entrance will soon be history while the environment is going thru a large transformation. Restored Piispantalo will be accompanied by new apartment buildings that are being built in the same block.

The new entrance however did not have to follow the old architectural style. It was clear from the beginning that the design of expansion was to be modern and clearly deviate from the old style. Some of the old elements like decorative moldings were retained to protect the character of the old building. The glass porch lets in plenty of natural light keeping the space bright and airy.
