Welcome to celebrate the Day of Architecture, Art and Design at Palad Showroom! We have open doors at Showroom on Saturday, 3 February from 12:00 to 16:00.

The public art exhibition Gold and silver presents public artworks designed by Partanen & Lamusuo from more than two decades. The exhibition is an experiential whole, where works of art and their manufacturing process are presented, e.g. with the help of pictures, model pieces, videos and miniature models. The artist-architect couple will be there to talk about the exhibition and the process of public art. The exhibition has been supplemented with new video and image material.

Also on display The Goddess of Thunder evening dress designed by the ecological fashion brand SaagaMaria, which has attracted international interest. Saaga Lamusuo, a young clothing designer from Kuopio, was invited to design a dress for the Miss Continental Europe 2023 competition, where the dress was seen on stage above Miss Australia. The sensual suit is available for purchase and rent. Also fall in love with SaagaMaria's futuristic, neo-noir sci-fi movie Blade Runner inspired Blade Dancer collection, designed for yoga and leisure time.

The guided cultural tour at 12:00

The guided walking tour takes participants on a journey into the world of public art and urban architecture. Artist Jaana Partanen talks about the creation processes, challenges and limitations of public art and tells about the historical backgrounds of the works without forgetting the architecture.

The tour in the centre of Kuopio is suitable for anyone interested in art, design and architecture. Departure from Original Sokos Hotel Puijonsarve lobby, Minna Canthin katu 16. The tour ends at Palad Showroom, Puijonkatu 16.
