In the middle of the Hossa hiking area, beside the clear waters of Lake Seipijärvi, the traveller will suddenly come across a most surprising building, like one of the dwellings used by the prehistoric inhabitants of Finland. The work of constructing the building involved making use of three old open shelters built of solid logs and an underground cellar, combining all of these into a single structure. The space for a smoke sauna and eating facilities was obtained by digging into the dry, sandy heath forest soil beneath the shelters, which meant that the small-scale nature of the building could be preserved, to the benefit of the sensitive natural environment. The new parts were built of "ancient" logs recovered from the bottom of the lake, and the heat-insulated roof structure was lined with tree trunks split in half, following an old building technique.
