The new appearance of the Kuopio airport was completed in spring 2015. A magnificent lake scene filled with islands opens around the airport. This theme, characteristic of the area, continues in the interior decoration of the terminal. A delicate reed theme is repeated in the windows, benches and service desks of the airport. Partanen & Lamusuo Ltd has also designed furniture for this space. You can wait for the departure of your flight on benches of the gate or on rock-like couches, and the dried logs pass for a table or a stool. Nature is present in the forms and the materials.

The design has focussed above all on passenger comfort and uncomplicated movement. The Kuopio airport is the most important and busiest in eastern Finland. The new appearance with its fresh and modern decoration solutions serves all the over 250,000 passengers who stop by at the airport annually.
