  • L.I.N.G. = Life Is Not Gray

The façade of the Original Sokos Hotel Puijonsarvi got a new look with the striking public artwork L.I.N.G. – Life Is Not Gray, designed by Partanen & Lamusuo Ltd. Glowing in shades of gold and bronze, the piece brings rhythm, color, and light to the heart of Kuopio. The artwork’s form draws inspiration from music and movement, with its three-dimensional, laser-cut metal shapes coming to life as the light changes. L.I.N.G. extends the hotel’s artistic world outdoors, becoming a dynamic landmark in the cityscape. Read more about the project.

  • The Ukonkallio Summer Villa Roots into Nature

Designed by Partanen & Lamusuo Ltd., the Ukonkallio Summer Villa stands on a rocky Savo peninsula, seamlessly rooting into the surrounding nature. Ukonkallio continues the design legacy of Aino and Alvar Aalto in a modern way, composing architecture as a balanced whole with its natural environment. The site’s rock formations, pine trunks, and stone surfaces extend into the architecture itself, forming a cohesive and calming ensemble. Read more about the project.

  • See You on the Benches of Matkus!

Partanen & Lamusuo Ltd. has designed new kinds of meeting and resting areas for the Matkus Shopping Center. The Benches and Islands draw their inspiration from Finnish sauna culture and lake nature. • Palad Podcast | Episode 9

What a joy to create a podcast with our daughter. We are connected not only by family ties but also by shared values in our businesses — social responsibility, ecology, and empathy. We all us rescue materials in our work, both in fashion and furniture design.

In this episode, we reflect on how the atmosphere at home shapes one’s values — and who influences whom. SaagaMaria has already achieved one of her dreams by designing an evening gown for the Finnish Independence Day Reception at a young age, while we, Jaana and Heikki, were still sitting in classrooms at that age.
